Students of today would be leaders of tomorrow: Governor

Bhopal, Sept 14: Governor Dr Balram Jakhar has said that it is a matter of pride that organizations like Maharishi Mahesh Yogi are working in different countries of the World and in Madhya Pradesh to inculcate high human values in the young generation. Surely, these students would be World leaders tomorrow.
He said Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji has done a commendable work towards spreading humanity, Indian culture and traditions across the Globe. His works would always remain with us.
The Governor was addressing the three-day concluding Session of the Maharishi Vidya Mandir National Cultural Meet 2008, held here at Lamakheda Bhopal. Students from 150 Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools across India and several local schools from Bhopal participated in different cultural competitions held during past three days.
Dr Jakhar distributed prizes to winners of different competitions and also awarded teachers for their exemplary services for the noble profession. The 51 teachers were given Maharishi Shiksha Samman awards on the occasion.
Brahmchari Dr Girish Ji, chairman, Maharishi Vidya Mandir Group of Schools presided over the function.
In his address, Dr Girish Ji said that the Maharishi organization is committed for over all development of students. He said today, the need is to build up students who are capable of handling World pressures and having a fighting spirit for attaining excellence in every walk of life. He committed before the hon. Governor that Maharishi Sports Academy will be setup in near future and 50 acres of land for the purpose has already been purchased.
Special guest in the morning session of the events, Dr PB Gangopadhyay, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Madhya Pradesh Government said, imbibing Indian culture in combination with education, develops a complete personality. This unique expertise of Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools for inculcating rich Indian culture and traditions among the new generations for past more than 50 years would give our country, leaders capable of leading our country to a World power. Expressing concern over Global Warming, he said we should now be concentrating more on adding green cover to our precious World in order to save the deteriorating environmental conditions. We could only evade natural catastrophes through a proper green cover, he added. Addressing students, he said we have to have a fighting spirit if we want to come first or excel in any walk of life.
Earlier, Dr Alerik Anenander, eminent Neurologist from California University and Dr Cynthia Anenander informed students about affects of Transcendental Meditation on human brain. Senior officials from Maharishi organizations and others were present on the occasion. Maharishi organization director MS Solanki presented a brief report of the program and also informed him about the aims and objectives of the program.
