22 December 2011 - Recently, the German president commemorated the ongoing period of peace in the country, speaking of the powerful, invincible desire of the German people for unification and harmony.

'This is an historic achievement,' said a Transcendental Meditation teacher. 'It's a breakthrough in the collective consciousness of Germany that the president of the country, the head of state, starts to speak about invincibility,' he said, attributing it to growing use of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness by people across the nation.

In spite of the global financial crisis, Germany's economy is booming. In addition, crime rates are dropping and the German president is reflecting on the recent years of peace.

Transcendental Meditation teachers in Germany are taking notice of these trends, attributing them to the growing use of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's technologies of consciousness in the country.

'Against the downward trend of the economy in Europe, Germany's economy is going up,' one teacher said.

He cited a recent newspaper headline which read, 'German economy ignores crisis: Companies and consumers surprisingly optimistic'.

Another reason for optimism in Germany is the low crime rate.

For the first time since the unification of East and West Germany, the number of crimes in the country is less than 6 million. This number is the absolute record low in Germany since crime began to be recorded.

At the same time, solved crime cases are at an all-time high of 56%, reflecting increased efficiency of the police.

One more telling statistic: less than 0.1% of people in Germany are in prison.

All these factors, but especially the prevailing peace in the country, have led German president Christian Wulff to speak about the invincible spirit of the German people.

An administrator of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the country remarked on the fifty successful years of Maharishi's programmes in Germany and the correspondence with prevailing peace.

'Never before in the history of Germany was there a period of fifty years of peace—fifty years of peace which brought the unification of a divided country.'

When this period of peace was commemorated, President Wulff started to speak in terms of invincibility. He said freedom is invincible and it was the desire for freedom and unity in Germany that brought the Berlin Wall down.

'This is an historic achievement,' said the Transcendental Meditation teacher. 'It's a breakthrough in the collective consciousness of Germany that the president of the country, the head of state, starts to speak about invincibility.'*
