Tours, exhibits, workshops set at Vedic City
MAHARISHI VEDIC CITY -- Maharishi Vedic City will open its doors to the public once again during its second annual gala Festival of Healthy, Organic, Enlightened Living June 10-11.
Vedic City, which was founded five years ago, is the world's first city built according to Vedic architecture in harmony with Natural Law. The festival will feature tours, lectures, workshops, and galleries, as well as organic food, live music and art exhibitions. Themes include Health and Diet, Organic Agriculture and Food, Vedic Architecture, the Vedic Observatory, and Programs for Enlightenment to satisfy visitors' craving for knowledge.
Festival-goers also can take rare tours of homes and buildings designed according to the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture-Sthapatya Veda. All buildings in Vedic City face east and feature Vedic designs such as proper room placement, dimensions and the slope and shape of the land to create a harmonious relationship between the homeowner and the extended environment, including the sun, moon and planets.

Featuring tours of “Fortune-Creating” homes, special presentations on Maharishi Vedic Architecture, tours of Maharishi Vedic City greenhouses, demonstration of the Vedic Observatory, sunset concert, art shows, Yogic Flying demonstrations, and more.
Iowa’s newest city will open its doors once again during its second annual “Festival of Healthy, Organic, Enlightened Living” Saturday June 10 and Sunday June 11. Everyone is invited to join enjoy a taste of Vedic Living and to see, feel and learn what makes this community unique.
The Festival will feature tours of “Sthapatya Veda” homes, a tour of the City’s organic greenhouses, Vedic Health tips, demonstrations of the Vedic Observatory—1.5-acres of open-air masonry sundials, art shows, organic food, a special sunset concert overlooking the Vedic Observatory, and more.
Location: Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa
(2 miles north of Fairfield on Highway One)
Welcome center: Headley Hall, 2100 Mansion Drive (from Airport Rd. turn right on Jasmine, left on Grand and right on Mansion)
Festival Tickets: Adults—$10 for 2 days-includes concert, $8 for 1 day; Students—$6 for 2 days-includes concert, $5 for 1 day; Children 12 and under free
Concert Tickets only: $5 for adults, $3 for students
